As the first publication in a series of three volumes, this book lays the foundation for discussions about regenerative building and architecture based on an ongoing research project at the Aarhus School of architecture. This first volume consists of three parts. First, a literature review, outlining the historical and theoretical background of regeneration in relation to the built environment. This is followed by descriptions of themes within regenerative architecture with numerous built examples. The publication concludes with an introduction to methods for assessing and quantifying regenerative aspects and environmental consequences.
